I chose this hotel as we were visiting Venice for a few days. I had been to Mestre once before and knew that the best way to "do" Venice was to actually stay in Mestre, catch the tram/bus to the City, see the sights and travel back. It's convenient and easier than struggling through the narrow streets looking for a hotel. We bought a 48-hour travel ticket which covers tram or bus as well as the Vaporetto (water bus) in Venice. This means you're not struggling to buy tickets every time you decide to use public transport. Check-in was swift, no problems. Room on 5th floor was clean and adequate for our needs. Bathroom was a little small but for a few days was fine. Breakfast was in a roomy dining space and offered a very wide selection of both sweet & savoury items. Coffee was by a multi-vend grinder/espresso machine and was very good. Hot water (for partner's tea) was also available from here. Two lifts are available in the lobby - 1 for single users, the other for up to 10 (I think). Handy if you have to nip back up to the room in a hurry (as I did a couple of times!). Location was actually very useful. It was about 5 minutes from the airport drop-off point in the centre of Mestre and 5 minutes from the tram & bus stops for Venice. Tickets were available from Reception as was general advice on visiting Venice. Around the Hotel is a collection of very nice shops - both mall-based and independent. There's also a great outdoor market (maybe 2-3 times a week) with many stalls selling the most eye-catching fruit and vegetables I've seen for a long time. There's a permanent covered market 3 minutes away offering the same, plus fresh fish, meats, cheeses etc. Eating out: there's plenty of places nearby, some very goo, others so-so. We went early in the season so things were starting to get into the swing of a new season, but you have to remember that Mestre is a working town, Venice is the "tourist magnet.

We stayed in the hotel Venezia in end of October for one night before the start of our cruise trip and for that purpose the hotel was perfect: it can be directly reached from the airport through the airport bus (from the bus stop only a few minutes to the hotel), the hotel is located right next to the pedestrian zone of Mestre where one can find good restaurants, cafes etc, and from the hotel one can take the tram or public bus the next day directly to Venice (hint: from the hotel pass through the roofed galleria and a few steps through the pedestrian zone you directly arrive at the Olivi Tram stop for Tram 2 which goes directly to Venice. This is the option if you have already bought the tram ticket in advance e.g. the night before. If you first have to buy a ticket: there is a tabacci a 100m further down the via Via Olivi. If you are already there then best continue a 50m further and you are already at the corner Via capuccina/Via Giosue Cardcci: there you have the benefit that you also have the option to take the bus (bus number 7) to Venice.) The hotel itself is typical Italy city hotel style: many rooms, the hotel has seen some years but is in good renovated conditions. Still in the old style (lots of plush, gold color etc), hotel personnel in livree, it feels as if you are back in the 80ties, but nice if you like that style. Good breakfast (not anything special but enough and typical Italy breakfast standards). Perfect if you stay for one or 2 days, especially when you want to avoid the over tourism of Venice. Mestre downtown has been nicely renovated and offers a much more relaxed atmosphere e.g. for dinner etc..

We loved this hotel, from walking in the front door you get a real feel of history. The staff were very friendly from check in and throughout our stay. Breakfast was brilliant, a great selection of fresh pastries, breads, rolls, meats, cheeses, cereals and yoghurts! Selection of hot drinks and an espresso machine! We would recommend NOT waiting until the last minute to go, the hotel was very busy and we overheard a few people moaning but got there for 9am all mornings and it was perfect! Location is excellent! Only a 5 minute walk to the bus stop for either the 15 for the airport (30mins) or the 4L directly into Venice (25mins) -stop A3 coming back to the hotel or the tram T1 (20mins) you can pick up a travel card from reception, we went for the 48hr for €35, very worth your money and makes getting around in Venice on the water buses very easy! There is no bar/restaurant at the hotel, only a couple of vending machines in the foyer, BUT there was a good selection within 5mins walking distance and shops to be able to get water etc.. We would recommend Napa, it’s a trendy bar with great selection of drinks, music and cicchetti!! The hotel won’t pre book taxis to the Airport or Venice but “AtoB Transfer” we’re excellent, very simple book online option and 5 star service.

Good value for the money ! Good access by car (parking can be arranged) Partly refurbished (e.g. doors to the rooms, bathroom) - yet they were able to keep that old "Venice"-charme (e.g. lamps). Although situated in the centre of Mestre both Venice and the the Mestre train station can be reached easily by bus/tram. I paid € 13 for the taxi to the train station and € 25 to Piazzale Roma in Venice The breakfast was "continental" (i.e. non-cooked) with a good variety of products to choose from: plain ham and salami, cheese, spreads, fruit, rolls, cakes, croissants ...

Very well located hotel. Right next to the shopping centre with the supermarket if you need a snack. Square with restaurants and bars 5 min walk. Bus and tramp stop few min walk away from hotel which takes you directly to Venice around 15 min drive with ticket 3 euro both ways. Our room is not very specious but has a balcony and we really were only sleeping there .Lovely breakfast downstairs. .it was just perfect for us away from the crowd, but everything was on the doors step. 15 min taxi to airport as well.Would definitely stay there again
